MVA With One Trapped

Just after 2230 hours Swatara Fire & Rescue was alerted to Route 322 between Penhar Dr & Mushroom Hill Rd for an auto accident with rollover and entrapment. Chief 91-1 arrived shortly after dispatch and confirmed one person trapped. Companies worked to remove the patient within 15 minutes of arrival. Crews from Swatara Fire & Rescue were busy today with several incidents. First was around 1000 hours, Rescue 91 was alerted to assist at a gas leak in Lower Swatara Twp. Due to the scale of the incident and the need for manpower, Engine 91-2 was alerted to respond as well. Crews were on scene for approximately an hour before returning

Paxton St Vehicle Fire

This evening multiple units and personnel from Swatara Fire & Rescue responded to the Red Roof Inn along Eisenhower Blvd for a reported vehicle fire. First arriving units found a pick up truck hauling construction equipment to be on fire. It's Not Just About Putting Out Fires

August 22

Air 91-2 responded to a house fire in Londonderry Township. While on scene filling SCBA cylinders and assisting on the fire ground, Firefighter Rick Marciniak provided assistance to the family on a whole different level.

Firefighter Marciniak, an avid animal lover, noticed that the family’s dog had perished in the fire and wanted to help the family give the dog a proper resting place.
